Easter Week

We've been very busy since the start of Easter Break. I'll start with Friday April 10th.

  • Friday 10th - half day of school - I worked a little while the kids were in school - we had lunch at Sonic - ran a few errands - then headed home to see if the fabric I had ordered to make Karly an Easter dress had arrived - much to my dismay it had not - so I decided to start on another project - a quilt I had been wanting to make for some time now - about 5:00 I heard the sound of the UPS truck pulling up in front of the house - my fabric had finally arrived - I dropped everything and began to cut and sew - by 11 something I had the dress completed except for attaching the sleeves and hemming it - I was very pleased!

  • Saturday 11th - I attached the sleeves - Karly requested a purse to match her dress and I complied - I also made her matching barrette and myself a brooch to match also - that afternoon Karly and I went to see the Hannah Montana movie [which was really good] and Ryland and Jonah went to see Monsters vs. Aliens 3D and then we had dinner - came home and hemmed her dress by hand - then went to bed to wait for the arrival of the Easter Bunny!

  • Sunday 12th - Happy Easter! - The Easter Bunny came and brought lots of goodies! - we went to church - we had a wonderful lunch at Nana's and Papa's - came home and had a nap - then had a good meal at the mexican restaurant with Grangran and Poppy! - We had a great Easter!

  • Monday 13th - We had lunch with Joanie today - I did her hair - and I got to work on my quilt! Good friends + Good food + Good fabric = Good day!

  • Tuesday 14th - Mama, the kids and I went to pick up a quilt that had been hand pieced by grandma and then hand quilted by a group of women that get together and quilt every Tuesday and then donate the money to the local volunteer fire department - it was quite a sight to see - I felt as though I had stepped back in time - it was really awesome to see these women gathered around a quilt frame, sewing by hand, and sharing their lives! - I'm glad my children were able to see this! Afterwards we drove to Lynchburg and had lunch at Cracker Barrel - then on to a couple of quilt shops and some more shopping - we had a great day!

  • Wednesday 15th - Work - Church

  • Thursday 16th - Work

  • Friday 17th - Ryland thought he was going to have to go to work today but there was a change in plans so he decided that we should go somewhere - YEAH!!! - he made some quick plans and we were off to Gatlinburg, Tenn. - where we spent our honeymoon 18 years ago this August - we had reservations at a wonderful cabin in the mountains - we had a wonderful trip - just what the doctor ordered for all of us! Thank you honey, I can't believe how far we've come - I Love You!

  • Saturday 18th - Fun in Tennessee!

  • Sunday 19th - We arrived back in Dry Fork! We had a great Easter Break !
